Jared

We walk into the meeting room and I see Aiyana with her head down. My girl is tired. Jeremy moves and I sit beside her. “Yeah, just tired.”

I nod and put my hand on her back. She slowly sits up. “You were fuckin’ awesome, Princess.” I get a small smile and she leans into me. Not knowing what to do I just hold her.

Ricky and Pres come in and the boards flip on with the Prince Officers on them. “Aiyana okay?” Prez asks watching her.

She lifts her head. “Yes. I am tired, but fine.”

He throws her chin and she gives it back making me smile. Pres gives us status and Prez tells us about the shit that was dropped at the hangar. The Prospects are cataloging everything and Brantley will get the books and papers sorted. Jamie tells us about the ship stalling with no communication in the ocean. My mom is getting their logs translated now and will have them by tomorrow’s meeting. I’m not part of any of this so I just listen and watch Aiyana take it all in. The MC Op is gone over and all Princes are quiet. When Pres leaves, Ricky thanks everyone again calling out Christian, Aiyana and the Protectors for their help with the ship and keeping the MC safe today. Without them getting rid of the ship we were in for a hell of a fight. Since the ship held no support for the ground fight, it wasn’t much of a fight. Aiyana and Christian worked with the Protectors making it easy and painless. I was still working with my mom, but I saw them shielding and suspending. I don’t think a Protector even fired a shot today. No injuries, no casualties. It’s a good day.

Everyone is thanking Aiyana and Christian as we stand. “Good job, Protectors. Thanks for stepping in, Jared,” Prez says from the board. He’s still watching Aiyana, but I see her smile at him and he relaxes. “Dakota will be around if you need him.”

“I will be fine, but thank you, Prez. I helped at the reservation today and am feeling that now.” He shakes his head smiling then the boards shut off. We walk out of the meeting room and she stops to give Ally her holster. My girl is wiped and I keep my arm around her as we walk.

Christian walks with us out to the chopper. “Next time we jump before Ops. I didn’t see you at the reservation today, Aiyana.”

I look at him and he shrugs. ‘I’ll find out next time. I didn’t know.’ He throws to me.

I nod, glad that he’ll make sure she’s taken care of next time, then fly my tired girl home.
